Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

This page explains what cookies are used on Viestia and why.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a website, allowing it, among other things, to recognize you on subsequent visits.

Cookies used by Viestia

Viestia only uses a session cookie, set by our authentication provider Supabase, which keeps you signed in to your account while you browse. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to work: without it, you could not stay signed in or access your personal space.

This is a technical ("httpOnly") cookie, inaccessible to scripts and used exclusively to manage your session.

No audience-measurement or advertising cookies

As of today, Viestia does not use any audience-measurement (analytics), advertising, or social-media cookies. No browsing data is shared with advertising networks or third-party tracking tools.

Consent

Strictly necessary cookies, such as the one used by Viestia, are exempt from prior consent requirements under applicable regulations (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, CNIL guidelines). No consent banner is therefore displayed at this time.

Should Viestia introduce non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing) in the future, a compliant consent banner would be put in place before they are set, and this page would be updated accordingly.

Managing cookies from your browser

You can configure your browser at any time to refuse cookies; since the session cookie is required to stay signed in, refusing it would prevent you from remaining connected to your account. Each browser has its own settings, usually available in the privacy settings.
